The Scottish National Nature Reserve of the Isle of May is located five miles east of Anstruther in the Firth of Forth. Lighthouses on the island have been helping seafarers for centuries as they sail the Firth of Forth. The island is now an important research centre for breeding seabirds - puffins, guillemots and razorbills - as well as grey seals.
