This tower house, along with the 18th century formal gardens and ancient yew hedge is quite rightly one of the National Trust for Scotland's most popular properties in the North East.
Built from 1553 to 1596 it was the ancertral home of the Burnetts of Leys granted the lands by Robert the Bruce 1323.
The last of the Burnetts have gone but four centuries of an abundant life have stamped an indelible character on the house and garden that belonged to them for so long....
