Located on the main road between Perth and Pitlochery, Dunkeld is a delightful little town on the River Tay. With over 1,000 years of recorded history, its first monastery founded around AD 700 and made co-capital of Scotland by Kenneth MacAlpine, its pedigree is second to none in Scotland. The majestic medieval cathedral, of which substantial remains survive took almost two centuries to construct.
