YesScotland.com : A view of Inverkip Located on the Firth of Clyde, 5 miles south west of Greenock. The thrusting landmark 700 foot chimney of the power station, (Inverkip was Scotland's first oil-fired power station, built in 1970), is visible for miles around. It is now mothballed due to the huge increase in the price of oil since then.
Best know today for its sailing marina, a lively and safe haven for the growing number of sailing enthusiasts looking for a base on the Firth of Clyde.
