Inveresk

Scotland > Central Scotland > Midlothian > Inveresk

There is evidence of habitation at Inveresk since roman times, both as a residential centre and military base.
The charm of the varied architecture, quite unchanged since the 17th & 18th centuries is preserved in particular at Inveresk Lodge, with fine gardens on display.
The church of St Michael's (1805) is said to stand on the site of ancient christian worship, founded soon after christianity was introduced to Scotland.
