This is a very pleasant little town that at one time was known as a spa town. It is still a popular destination for tourists you can enjoy the quiet clear surroundings and explore the art, antique and book shops to be found here.
The Border Games are held annually and contain the "Cleikum" where a pegeant of St Ronan rids the town of the devil for the next 12 months.
To the south of the town stands the old mansion of Traquair, just across the Tweed.
