Inchkeith Island

Scotland > Central Scotland > Fife > Inchkeith Island

For such a small island, sitting some 3 miles off the Fife coast, south east of Kinghorn, the island has had its share of illustrious visitors.
From 1549 until 1567 it was held by the French. Dr Johnston and Boswell visited it and Carlyle in 1817.
