Inchcolm Island

Scotland > Central Scotland > Fife > Inchcolm Island

yesscotland: The holy isle of Inchcolm. Just to the south of Aberdour 1.5 miles out into the Firth of Forth, sits the tiny holy island of Inchcolm.
It houses the ruined Abbey of St Columba (1123), a very interesting and one of the most complete monastic remains in Scotland. The bulk of the structure dates from the 13th to 15th centuries, with the Chapter house worthy of note.
