YesScotland.com : A view of Hopeman Hopetoun House, the work of Scottish architects Sir William Bruce & William Adam, is one of the most beautiful examples of Georgian architecture in Scotland.
Located just outside Edinburgh, the house and its 150 acres of parkland, woodland walks and has breathtaking views to the River Forth. The interiors are home to fine paintings, original furnishings, tapestries and fine chandeliers in the ballroom.
The house has been the home of the Earls of Hopetoun, since it was built in 1699 and part of the House is still lived in by the present Marquess and his family. The house is actually owned and managed by an independent trust created in 1974 in order to preserve the house and surrounding landscape for the enjoyment of the public.
