Scotland > Central Scotland > Renfrewshire > Greenock

Located on the A8, 23 miles north west of Glasgow, on the shores of the Firth of Clyde.

Greenock's mainstay in the past, was shipbuilding, with varoius well known yards providing the core of employment to the town.

James Watt, steam engine pioneer, was born here, as was, the famous pirate Captain Kidd in 1645. James Watt's son built the Watt Library in 1835, where a statue to his father can still be seen.
