Grantown-on-Spey

Scotland > East of Scotland > Moray > Grantown-on-Spey

The village was originally laid out by Sir James Grant on the lovely wooded banks of The River Spay as the Highland centre of linen making.
Today its broad streets of granite built houses have become one of the Highlands best centres for touring and holidays. Local walking, fishing and curling are just some of the attractions. Red squirrels can still be seen in the woods nearby.
