YesScotland.com : A view of Galston Parish Church. One of the three "Valley Burghs" in the Irvine Valley, east of Kilmarnock in East Ayrshire.

It owes it's existance to lace making and mining in the 18th and 19th centuries. The old village is dominated by Barr Castle a 15th centuary building renowned for the famous reformation and Convanting personalities who either stayed or preached there, John Knox being the most notable.

The old Parish Church is notable as is the Catholic St Sofia's Church for their individual architecture.

Close by the Loudoun amusement park and various valley walks draw tourists and visitors to the area.
