Fort Augustus

Built by General Wade in 1730, Fort Augustus sits at the south western end of Loch Ness, where Loch Ness meets the Caledonian Canal. This small town offers tourists quite a lot including many places to eat and stay as well as many things to see, including the Clansman centre and the abbey, as well as the Caledonian Canal Heritage Centre.
