Isle of Eigg

Part of the Inner Hebrides, Eigg is 7 miles from the mainland coast of Inverness-shire. The island has an area of 7534 acres and at its highest point is 1198 feet.
The Camas Sgiotaig Beach has sandstone cliffs which have many different shapes through erosion and the sand is reptuted to 'sing' as the wind travels through.
The composer Kenneth MacLeod was born on Eigg in 1872 .
