The village stands in the valley of the Water of Girvan. There are some interesting historical sites around the village, the ruins of Dalquharran Castle and the 16th century Brunston Castle are nearby and Penkill Castle with its association with Dante Gabriel Rossetti lies to the south of old Dailly.
