Corpach

Scotland > Highland Counties > Inverness-shire > Corpach

Another "suburb" of Fort William, about 5 miles west of the town on the A830 Mallaig road. A must is "Treasures of the Earth" with its fine array of gemstones and mineral exhibition. The Paper Mill has had a chequered career, there having been a pulp mill in the same location until 1980 when it was closed. Used to be an important "mart" for the local agricultural industry but today is served by the papermill, sawmill, boatyard and tourism industry being so close to the draw of Fort William. Corpach, however, tends to be drier and more sunny!
