YesScotland.com : A view of Braemar Located at the base of Morrone Hill on both banks of the Cluny Burn where it enters the River Dee.
Braemar Castle, 1.5 miles to the east of the village was built by the Earls of Mar in 1628. It is famous for the annual "Braemar Gathering" where highland games and piping contests feature every September. One of the highlights of the games is the visit by the Queen and her party.
