Located on the Mainland of Orkney, on the extreme north western tip, this charming little place was a favourite haunt of holidaying Orcadians. The ruins of a holiday palace of Earl Robert Stewart proves that modern Orcadians were not alone in liking the charms of this out of the way spot! Off these werstern coasts Lord Kitchener was drowned when his ship was sunk by a German mine in 1916.
