Bearsden

Scotland > West of Scotland > Dunbartonshire > Bearsden

Located 6 miles North West of Glasgow, Bearsden has some of the best preserved sections of the Antonine Wall, Scotland's major Roman defensive work. It was built in AD 143 as a defense in a line stretching from the Clyde to the Forth during the reign of emperor Antoninus Pius.
Today the town is a leafey northern suburb of Glasgow on the borders of the Kilpatrick hills.
