Bass Rock

YesScotland.com : A view of Bass Rock Located off the coast of East Lothian, this 350 feet high chunk of rock appears to rear straight out of the water, its sheer cliffs of hard igneous stone having withstood the flattening of glacial pressure in the last ice age.
Its inhabitants have ranged from a 7th centuary Christian hermit to covenanter prisoners in the 16th cent. Today the innumerable seabirds are the rocks successors, visited every year by intrepid bird watchers from all over the world.
