YesScotland.com : Over to Banff The county town of Banff sits at the mouth of the River Deveron, on the Moray Firth.
It was made a Royal Burgh in 1371. It flourished in the 18th centuary after its harbour was built. There are a few good examples of buildings which have survived from this time - Banff Castle, built in 1750 and Duff House in 1740.
The town today is a quiet holiday destination with great coastal scenery and sandy beaches. Located on the A98, 47 miles North West of Aberdeen.
