Balquhidder

A small village close to the famous "Braes o' Balquhidder" a scenic and historical area at the eastern end of Loch Voil.
The old church has the remains of a building built around 1631. Rob Roy MacGregor is buried with his wife and children near to the ruined church. Although the area is romantically associated with Rob Roy MacGregor, it is historically the fact it was the small clan MacLaren who held land here continuously up until the 1930's.
