Yetholm

YesScotland.com : A view looking back to Yetholm Really two small settlements, on either side of the Bowmont Water, Town Yetholm and Kirk Yetholm. Located off the B6401, 7 miles soth east of Kelso.

Legend has it that the fallen Scottish nobles from the battle of Flodden are buried in the old kirkyard. The town historically was associated with Scottish gipsies, the last queen of the gypsies, Esther Faa Blytte died here in 1893. The small cottage known as the "Palace" can still be seen.

Today the gipsies have gone and the twin villages nestle in peace in a beautiful part of Southern Scotland only a couple of miles from the English border.
