Located on the A835, on the shores of Loch Broom, it is a picturesque fishing village, with quite a range of facilities and activities such as; restaurants, shops, cafes, bars with live entertainment, sea and loch fishing and cycle hire.

It is the main ferry port to Stornoway in the Western Isles and boat cruises to the Summer Isles leave from the harbour in summer.

It is an ideal base from which to explore Wester Ross and the Highlands.
