Turriff

A small town located on the A947, 11 miles south east of Banff in north Aberdeenshire.

Created a burgh of barony in 1511. Nearby Delgatie Castle, home of the Clan Hay; Craigston Castle; Kinedar Castle, the main 13th Century stronghold of the Comyn earls of Buchan and Towie Barclay Castle, home to the Barclay family.

There is a livestock market and every August the Turriff Show, the largest agricultural show in north east Scotland is held here.
