Tillicoultry

Scotland > Central Scotland > Clackmannanshire > Tillicoultry

Located off the A91, Tillicoultry is situated to the north of the River Forth, about 9 miles east of Stirling. It is the biggest of the Hillfoots Villages which consist of Menstrie, Alva, Tillicoultry and Dollar, all sitting along the foot of the Ochil Hills.

In the past the towns fortunes were based on paper manufacturing and woolens.

Tillicoultry is still expanding, as are all the hillfoots villages, with new housing schemes springing up in every village. It's rural setting combined reasonably quick access to the main rail and motorway links makes this area an ideal base for commuting to Stirling, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
