Tayport

Located off the A92/B945, 3 miles south of Dundee, on the Firth of Tay with attractive views of the Broughty Ferry coastline and Tentsmuir Forest.

Originally the ferry port across the Tay untill the Tay bridge was built in 1888. A new harbour was constructed to accomodate paddle steamers which provided a ferry service between Tayport and Dundee. This service continued until 1920.


Today a holiday and residential town.
