YesScotland.com : A view of Balvaird Castle Located off the A91, a few miles west of Auchtermuchty, on the River Eden.

Part of the area in the village known as Templelands, was once owned by the Knights Templer.

The old castle was pulled down in 1734 to use the stone to build the the steeple in front of the Town House.

To be seen in the village is the Strathmiglo Stone, a neolithic carved stone.

Nearby Balvaird Castle was built in the 15th century and has fine views of the Lomonds and the Eden valley.
