Stanley

Scotland > East of Scotland > Perthshire > Stanley

The village of Stanley is located off the A9/B8063, about 5 miles north of Perth. It is an industrial planned village, sitting on the dramatic bend of the River Tay. The Stanley Mills, which worked between 1784 and 1850, were in their time the largest industrial complex in Scotland. The mill buildings were restored in 1995.

Stanley is named after Lady Amelia Stanley, wife of the 1st Marquis of Atholl.
