Shettleston

Located east of Glasgow, Shettleston is a town linked with the coal and iron industries of the 16th century. Just 3 miles (5 km) from Glasgow Cross, Shettleston provided labour for many workers from around the Clyde area. The town was also known for agriculture and weaving and by the 19th century, factories had been opened to manufacture ropes and bottles.
