Saltcoats

A well know holiday resort from the heyday of 20th century "doon the watter" trippers. Modern Saltcoats still welcomes holiday makers with many bars, hotels, restaurants and tearooms. The town runs into adjacent Ardrossan and Stevenston. Saltworks were originally established at Saltcoats in the 16th century. There is a mainline rail station.
