ReayScotland > Highland Counties > Caithness > Reay On the northern coastline of Caithness sits Reay, ten miles west of Thurso and site of Dounreay Nuclear Power Plant. An earlier village here was buried in sand in the early 18th century. Reay Church dates from 1739, but opposite it stand the ruins of an earlier church, containing a carved Celtic cross-slab. To the east of Reay are the prehistoric remains of Cnoc Freiceadain. ![]() |
