Powfoot

Scotland > South of Scotland > Dumfriesshire > Powfoot

Powfoot is situated twelve miles southeast of Dumfries and was formerly known as Queensberry. It has a long history as a seaside resort, but has seen a great deal of development since the 1900s. Nearby, a large explosives plant was originally built during the Second World War. The strong community spirit and scenic shingle and sand beach, ensure that Powfoot will remain a popular holiday destination.
