Port of Menteith

Five miles south of Callender, at the shore of the Lake of Menteith, lies Port of Menteith. This scenic location is sheltered by the Menteith hills and is popular with fishermen. The nearby island of Inchmahome is home to the remains of Inchmahome Priory, which was founded in 1238. Famous visitors to the island include Robert the Bruce and Mary Queen of Scots.
