Port Logan
Scotland > South of Scotland > Wigtownshire > Port Logan
Port Logan is located eleven miles south of Stranraer and was established by Colonel McDouall of Logan in the early 19th century. The harbour was built around 1820 and the granite lighthouse was completed soon after. Opposite the harbour, in Logan Bay, Logan Fish Ponds took twelve years to complete. Nearby Balzieland Old Castle was a stronghold of the McDoualls of Logan.
