Old SconeScotland > East of Scotland > Perthshire > Old Scone Old Scone is located one mile North of Perth and little of the original settlement remains. The area is steeped in history, ranging from being the Capital of Pictavia, the Kingdom of Kenneth I, to the location of a sermon by John Knox in 1559. Nearby, Moot (or Mote) Hill was the site of the crowning of Scottish Kings including Robert The Bruce. Mostly, the population has moved to the settlement of New Scone, two miles to the East. ![]() |
