YesScotland.com : A view of Kildrummy Castle The best surviving 13th century castle in Scotland. It was created by King Alexander II and St Gilbert (the last of the Scottish Saints) in the 1230's.
In 1306 the famous Siege of Kildrummy began. It lasted for 6 months before the castle was captured by the english.
It fell into ruin and was used by the population as a source of stone.
