A tower house with three towers and a linking block, Kellie Castle is well preserved and furnished by the National Trust. The small castle gardens are well worth the visit alone. The Southwest tower dates from 1606. The north west tower, was converted into a chapel in the 1940s.
The castle, which has many turrets, carved panels and stepped gables, was built in the 14th century. The East Tower was added in 1574. Abandoned in 1860, it was bought by James Lorimer. It came into the National Trust in 1970.
