It is a low-lying island, with the highest point, Burgh Hill being only 154 feet high and is about seven miles long. The island has several lovely sandy beaches. On the east coast between Lamb Ness and Odiness the dramatic cliff coast includes the famous Vat of Kirbister, a opening spanned by a fine natural arch.
