About 22 miles East of Edinburgh and situation on the River Tyne, East Linton has a 16c bridge which strengthens the link with the Edinburgh/London road. In the village there is an 18c Parish Church with graves of many people who were important to agriculture, including the inventor of the threshing machine, Andrew Meikle.
