Renowned for the "Burning of the Clavie" an ancient fire festival, at new year, Burghead is an old fishing village with harbour, lighthouse and excellent sands. The village now has a large maltings factory feeding the local whisky industry and as a result the village features in the Whisky Trail. History around here dates back to primitive man with carved stones in abundance.
