Located on the A85, 17 miles west of Perth. Built on a hillside above the River Earn it is a holiday destination with a sheltered climate. The Knock of Crief rises to 911 feet and affords spectacular views. In the village there is a 17th century tolbooth and market cross. The village was burnt to the ground by the Jacobites in 1716 but after 1723 it was re-built and improved by the 3rd Duke of Perth, James Drummond.
