· The first Harry Potter book was written by JK Rowling in a cafe in Edinburgh.

· Tony Blair, the UK Prime Minister, went to school at Fettes School here in Edinburgh, as did everyone's favourite Secret Service Spy character - James Bond. Ironically, Sean Connery, when growing up in Edinburgh, worked as a delivery boy to this school!
