Accommodation > Hostels/Bunkhouses

YesScotland lists well over 120 Hostels and Bunkhouses throughout the country. This has been a vast growth market for a number of years and quality standards have risen greatly over the past 15 years.

There are plenty examples of excellent quality hostel accommodation throughout the length and breadth of the country some in the most remote of locations and in superbly scenic areas.

As with all other forms of accommodation, you could check accolades and the establishments' web sites well, before booking. Members of the Independent Backpackers Hostels Scotland are well worth considering as members have to comply with rigid rules and standards in order to retain membership.

The other main source of Hostels is Scottish Youth Hostels Association which has been offering a high standard of Youth Hostel Accommodation for decades all over the country.
